HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR

Newborn Session

Congrats!

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO WELCOME YOUR PRECIOUS BUNDLE TO THE WORLD. WE HAVE CREATED THIS LIST OF TIPS TO HELP YOU AND YOUR BABY PREPARE FOR YOUR STUDIO TIME WITH US.

1

ONE

KEEP THE BABY AWAKE BEFORE

YOUR SESSION

We ideally want the baby to be nice and sleepy for their session so we recommend keeping your little one awake 2 hours before you arrive.

Of course, that's easier said than done, and if the baby is awake during their session I love to capture the moments when they make eye contact with the camera.

THREE

NO NEED TO DRESS TO IMPRESS

Newborn clothes are the cutest and we understand that you want your baby to wear all of their adorable outfits before they outgrow them.

For your time at the studio, we want you to save your precious outfits and instead dress your baby in a buttoned or zipper sleeper.

We want something that's easy to take off, that does not go over their head.

FIVE

DON'T STRESS

Your baby will most likely fall asleep on the drive to the studio and that is perfectly fine! We want your newborn session to be relaxed and enjoyable.

TWO

GIVE YOUR BABY A SPA DAY

We want your baby to look and feel their best! We suggest giving your baby a bath on the day of your session. This will also help with tip #1, because who can sleep through bath time?

After their bath, combing their hair and applying lotion will help with any dry & flaky skin they may have.

4

FOUR

FEED YOUR LITTLE ONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE

We suggest giving your baby a bottle or nursing before you leave so that they'll arrive with a full tummy.

If they need a little top up upon arrival, that's totally fine! We are on the baby's schedule and there will be enough time to have breaks for feedings and cuddles.

6

SIX

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

Give yourself lots of time, the last thing you want to feel is rushed. Make sure you dress for comfort and dress in layers so that if the room is too warm you're able to take off your cardigan or sweater.

IF YOU FOLLOWED THESE TIPS, YOUR LITTLE ONE SHOULD ARRIVE SLEEPY, WITH A FULL TUMMY AND READY TO START THEIR NEWBORN EXPERIENCE.
